In today’s global workplace, work is often done with people from multiple cultures, across the globe or across town, using a mashup of communications technologies and styles. The intersection of these factors – distance, digital tools, and culture – creates the need to match communications, habits, and technology to the nuances of differing cultures.
It’s not enough to simply understand how various cultures differ. Successful teams go that next critical step to understand how digital tool choice and practices translate into daily activities of business. For leaders and teams, achieving alignment, clarity, and productivity requires attention to these factors.
We begin with an overview of culture, drilling down to specific dimensions as lenses that impact how people work together. A specific focus is on how these dimensions influence the technology tool choice to which people from various cultures gravitate, and the differing standards or practices for how people use them. The session ends with each person creating an action plan for lasting impact and effectiveness, shared with the group and reviewed at post session meetings (usually 30 and 60 days).
